Our approach: Bottom–up identity repatterning

Most people try to change their lives from the top down: working only with “the thinking brain” through mindset work, strategy, willpower, or new habits.

Up until now, most of the work you’ve done has relied on a top-down approach. It engages the thinking brain: thought patterns, decision-making, analysis. It’s powerful, but it only reaches one layer of you.

If you’ve ever wondered why the change doesn’t last, why the identity doesn’t quite land, why the vision doesn’t materialize: it’s because top-down work can only take you so deep.

Our approach works bottom-up, using Somatic Experiencing® principles to balance your stress chemistry, restore prefrontal cortex function, and rewire the cognitive systems that govern clarity, emotional regulation, and your ability to hold expansion.

Throughout this experience, we’re using the most transformational tools from both of our worlds (strategy, identity work, and nervous system science) to create change that lands not only in the mind, but in the body.

  • A powerful co-led opening session with Isabel and Maia to root into what you’re creating—and why it matters now.

    We’ll help you anchor into a vision that moves you, one that becomes the blueprint for your next chapter — and the foundation for every step we’ll take together.

    We’ll teach you a gentler path to ambition—one built to last. A way forward that works at the speed of safety.

    Isabel will guide you into the body, helping you access the felt sense of your vision, and begin creating the internal safety to actually hold it.

    Maia will introduce some pieces of her VISION methodology, the life design framework that’s helped hundreds of creatives, founders, and deep-feelers shift from autopilot into intention.

    You’ll also set up your own AStC Notion dashboard and identify your first micromovements.

  • In Week 2, we move gently into the internal terrain—where resistance, fear, and freeze tend to hide.

    This session is led by Isabel, and it’s all about creating space in your system. Space to feel, to notice, to soften. Space for something new to take root.

    You’ve clarified your vision. Now, we help your body feel safe enough to move toward it.

    We’ll explore:

    • What “freeze” actually looks and feels like (and why it’s not laziness or lack of willpower)

    • Somatic tools to support your nervous system as you take new steps

    • How to spot and release unconscious blocks that drain your energy and blur your clarity

    We call it clearing the channels because this is not about “fixing” yourself. We will teach you how to clear the static so your energy is available for what matters.

  • By this point, you’ve anchored into your vision and started to move with clarity. But old beliefs and inner critics might still be lingering.

    This week, we go deep into what’s really been running the show.

    Co-led by Isabel and Maia, this session helps you bring awareness to the stories, patterns, and subconscious narratives that keep you second-guessing, playing small, or stalling your own momentum.

    We’ll teach:

    • How to spot the subtle scripts of self-sabotage

    • Techniques for rewiring limiting beliefs in both the body and the mind

    • The neuroscience and nervous system roots of shame, fear, and freeze

    You’ll walk away with:

    • A powerful reframe that supports your next chapter

    • Somatic tools to shift stories at the root—not just mentally

  • In Week 4, we begin the process of reclaiming your power—piece by piece.

    Led by Maia, this session is where clarity meets structure.

    You’ll learn how to build a simple, flexible system that holds your vision and helps you follow through—not by force, but through flow and intention.

  • By now, you’re moving. But showing up fully still feels edgy. Visibility, leadership, being seen—these things stir up shame, fear, and old survival patterns.

    This session is about melting that freeze.

    Led by Isabel, we’ll explore:

    • The nervous system’s relationship to shame and visibility

    • How internalized systems (patriarchy, productivity culture, etc.) shape how we show up—or don’t

    • Somatic practices to move through freeze and reclaim your voice, presence, and power

    Maia will offer intimate hot-seat coaching calls this week to help you break the fear of being seen by being seen for who you truly are.

    You’ll walk away with:

    • A grounded somatic understanding of shame and how to release it

    • New internal capacity to be seen, speak up, and share your work

    • A body-based blueprint for sustainable, embodied leadership

    This is the moment you stop hiding and start standing in who you actually are.

  • In our final session, we integrate everything.

    But we’re not over yet: we’re setting you up to keep going.

    Together, we’ll:

    • Reflect on your journey: what’s shifted in your body, your mindset, your systems

Hi, I’m Isabel - somatic practitioner, integrative psychotherapist, and creator of A State to Create.

The programme was born out of a 10 year career in a field I never actually wanted to be in, that wound me up with a shattered jaw and missing front teeth! This literal shock to the system triggered a series of events that led me to where I am today, taking the steps I longed to take many years before. The steps I wish I’d had clarity on, before I spent too long in an environment that was simply never for me.

This is a path I’ve walked myself, from knowing I wanted more and not being quite sure how to get there, to getting up and actively taking more for myself - making it happen, turning the thought into a thing - as Maia would say.

My work sits at the intersection of nervous system regulation and neuropsychology. The approach I’ve crafted isn’t about hacks, productivity or quick wins. It’s about creating sustainable change in the body and mind, so that you can hold the change this next level of yours requires.

If you ask me what I do, I’ll tell you I love to flirt with the limits of possibility.

At the core of my work, I help vision-led humans move what they want into what they actually live—by expanding their capacity to hold more.

This work was born from my own collision with ambition, and from my three years as a business mentor, helping hundreds of students turn their thoughts into things.

The big shift for me didn’t come from doing more, as you can guess. It came when I stopped the race for “more” and started working with my nervous system, and clearing patterns at a cellular level.

(Btw, Isabel and I met right about then, when she completely changed my life through 1:1 therapy)

When I focused on capacity, safety around my definition of success, and the right protocols, everything changed. I scaled my business to a quarter of a million while working 20-hour weeks, and taking entire summers off. A byproduct of my system finally, FINALLY, being able to hold more.

A State to Create is where I bring the nervous-system foundation of that work, so you can create the life your vision is asking for, but your body may still be circling around.

What Actually Changes by Week 8

This work isn’t about becoming a “better version” of yourself. It’s about inhabiting a different baseline.

By the end of A State to Create, the change isn’t something you’re trying to maintain, but something your system defaults to.

Here’s what that looks like in lived experience:

(01) Decisions feel sharp

Because your nervous system no longer interprets choice as threat. You decide without spiraling, second-guessing, or outsourcing your authority.

(02) Stress lands differently.

Pressure no longer collapses you or sends you into urgency mode. Your system can register intensity without flipping into survival. You stay present, oriented, and resourced, even when things get spicy.

(03) Action emerges instead of being forced.

You stop “trying” to be consistent. Action comes from clarity and internal permission, not from pushing, proving, or self-coercion.

(04) Your body becomes a source of information, not friction.

You trust what you feel. Signals make sense. Fatigue, excitement, resistance, desire, you start interpreting them as data and taking your body signals seriously.

(05) Your relationship with capacity fundamentally shifts.

More responsibility, visibility, money, or intimacy doesn’t automatically trigger contraction. You can hold more without collapsing. This is the fundamental shift.

(06) Your future self stops feeling like a concept

The identity you’ve been rehearsing mentally becomes neurologically familiar. It feels accessible. Safe. Normal.

This is what we mean by identity becoming baseline.
